Pablo Neruda: I do not love you…

Pablo Neruda was a Chilean Communist leader, politician, diplomat and senator and has been described as “the greatest poet of the 20th century in any language”. He always wrote in green ink because it was the colour of esperanza – hope.

I first heard the last two stanzas of his 17th sonnet in the movie Patch Adams.

Some of my other favourites include:

I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You

A Dog Has Died
